Reception News – Term 2 Week 7

What a happy, fun and jam-packed first two terms the Reception children have had. We have loved meeting them and watching them make so much progress in 2019. They have made great friends throughout the year group and enjoyed exploring new resources, rule and routines. We are so excited to share more memories in 2020 with the Reception children! Our topic in Term 3 will be ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. We have got some brilliant plans to make learning fun and engage the children.

We would like to say a big thank you to all of the adults who have supported us this week. We appreciate your support during the carol service (and walking there and back!) and want to thank you for providing food for the children to eat during their Christmas party. We have had such a great week leading up to the Christmas holidays. The children really enjoyed the staff pantomime, Cinderella – oh yes they did!

We have recapped and consolidated learning from Terms 1 and 2 in Phonics and Maths. The children have continued to think about the Christian meaning of Christmas and enjoyed the final days of the festive role-play areas.

The Reception team hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy some quality time with friends and family. See you in 2020 but please don’t forget there is an inset day on Monday 6th January so we will be seeing you on Tuesday 7th.
