Year 2 News – Term 1 Week 5

Have you seen a dragon on the loose in school this week? If you have, never fear! The Year 2 children can describe it and can give you clear instructions on how to catch it. We’ve learnt all about using imperative (bossy) verbs in our sentences and using subtitles to lay out our work.

We have really worked on our reasoning skills in maths this week. This means we have tried to apply what we already know (like number bonds) to help us solve problems and we have practised explaining how we solved problems.

We’ve enjoyed getting into the Motown groove in music again this week. We have focused on clapping along in time to music and noticing how the pulse, rhythm and lyrics work together.
