We have made it to the last week of term! This term we have gradually been increasing the amount of whole class learning we do where we are all working at the same time. The children have amazed us with their increased independence and how far they have come since the beginning of the year!
Please can you bring in any junk modelling resources that would help support our DT lessons in designing houses for the Three little Pigs e.g. waterproof materials, any transparent materials (used for windows) cardboard boxes etc.

100 day

This Friday is our 100th day in school….
On Friday 14th February 2025, we are taking part in a themed Maths day. We have chosen this day as it will mark reaching 100 on our daily counts. We are asking for your support in enabling your child to come to school with one thing you can find at home that represents 100. Please see the email correspondence for more information.
English
Phonics: This week we will be in the final revision stage of all our Phase 5a sounds taught so far. We are also completing one to one phonics assessments with children at this time.
Writing: Just as we learnt the story structure of the 3 Little Pigs last week, our focus text is Little Red Riding Hood. Throughout the week children will rehearse the story, write the story and then add their own twist to the end.

Reading: We continue to combine individual reading with guided reads. Please keep up with daily reading at home and record each time your child reads by making a short dated comment in the yellow reading log and ticking off your child’s book mark. Reading diaries are being checked for engagement at home and we will reach out if your child needs further support with out of school reading practice.
