It is Red Nose Day on Friday 21st March 2025. To support Red Nose Day, children can bring in their red nose and wear it at playtimes with their uniform. We will not be collecting money, however if you would like to donate, you can do so online.

Phonics: Phase 5b of our phonics.
This week our reading and writing will be based around the text Chocolate Cake by Michael Rosen. We will also been listening to his poem ‘Chocolate Cake’ which is closely to linked to the book below.
Reading:
We will be looking at how Michael Rosen performs his poem using expression and identifying the onomatopoeia in the poem (words that sound like their meaning, such as gobble gobble and yummmmm)
Writing:
We will be designing our dream cake and labelling it. We will then be thinking of lots of adjectives to the chocolate cake in teh story.
Reading:
Please continue to read daily with your child at home to support. Please remember to log this in your child’s reading record to support us to know if how many times they have read the book at home when we come to read with them.
Maths
This week we will finishing off our work around capacity and volume. Then we will be carrying out assessment using all our knowledge about mass, capacity, volume, length and height to answer assessment questions.
