Reception – Term 6, Week 2

  • Please alert your child’s class teacher when your child has filled up one side of their bookmark.
  • Please find the lunch menu by clicking here
  • Please use the school calendar to find up-coming dates.
  • Please make sure your child has a coat in school every day. When it rained last week, we noticed lots of children without coats. We will go outside even when it is cold and raining.
  • Please do not allow your child to play with the resources that are on the Reception patio in the morning. These have been carefully positioned and are there to support your child’s learning during the school day.

Please use the school calendar to find up-coming dates. There are some key dates below:

  • Monday 16th June – Inset day. School closed to all children.
  • Friday 20th June – Sports day (morning only). Parents are welcome to come support.
  • Monday 30th June – Open afternoon (after school). An opportunity for you and your child to visit their new classroom and look at their books/work this year.
  • Tuesday 22nd July – Last day of the school year.

This week we have been on a summer walk around the school to spot the changing signs of the season. Unfortunately it hasn’t been very sunny but we still managed to spot almost all of the things on our tick sheet! We have also been enjoying some mini-beast poetry, spotting which poems are rhyming poems and which ones aren’t.

Daisy Class – Leia

Buttercup Class – Ivy and Orla

This week, our observation focus is Communication and Language. Choose a minibeast and use some exciting adjectives to describe it on Tapestry. We will try to guess the minibeast from your description. For example, “This minibeast has 4 wings and a furry, stripy body. It makes delicious sticky honey. What is it?”

You can also send us any moments that you feel are significant in your child’s learning or want to share with your child’s class teachers. Click the links below to find out how to add observations from different devices.
