Diary dates
Please use the school calendar to find up-coming dates. There are some key dates below:
Monday 16th June – Inset day. School closed to all children
Friday 20th June – Sports day (morning only – 9:30-11:30). Parents are welcome to come support.
Monday 30th June – Open afternoon (after school). An opportunity for you and your child to visit their new classroom and look at their books/work this year.
Tuesday 22nd July – Last day of the school year.
English
Phonics: Recapping as required for each class. This week we will be carrying out the Phonics Screening Test.
Reading
We will be doing lots of work based on There’s a Rang-tan in My Bedroom this term. Our focus this week is on
Writing
Over the next 2 weeks we will looking at how to write letters. We will be looking at the difference between a formal and informal style of letter.
Maths
This week we will be learning more about addition and subtraction. Solving addition and subtraction number problems to 20.
Wider Curriculum
Science: We will be revisiting our learning about plants. Thinking about the different wild plants and garden plants.
Religion and World Views: We will be reviewing and assessing our learning from R+WV last term.
History: We will be learning about the lives of significant figures and beginning to look at Mary Anning and David Attenborough.
PE: To develop overarm throwing.
PSHE: We will be exploring ‘democratic decisions’ beginning to think about how democracy works.
Art: We will be making a printing device to create animal patterns.
