Reception – Term 6, Week 5

  • We have noticed a decline in parents reading with their children. Please make sure you continue to read with your child everyday. The children have worked so hard to learn their phonics and if they don’t apply this knowledge everyday at home, it often gets forgotten. We want the children to have the best start possible in Year 1, so please keep reading with them.
  • Please alert your child’s class teacher when your child has filled up one side of their bookmark.
  • Please find the lunch menu by clicking here
  • Please use the school calendar to find up-coming dates.
  • Please make sure your child has a coat in school every day. We will go outside even when it is cold and raining.
  • Please do not allow your child to play with the resources that are on the Reception patio in the morning. These have been carefully positioned and are there to support your child’s learning during the school day.

This week, the children have been immersed in the story Tad. Alongside this, there has been lots of fun activities going on at school, including a drama workshop and shuffle up time! On Thursday, the children spent time in their new classrooms with their new teachers playing and listening to a story.

This week our focus is Religion and Worldviews. In class, we have been thinking about caring for our world. Please send in one way you are helping to care for the world (eg recycling, planting bee- and butterfly- friendly flowers, walking instead of using the car…)

You can also send us any moments that you feel are significant in your child’s learning or want to share with your child’s class teachers. Click the links below to find out how to add observations from different devices.
