Noticeboard

Monday 30th June- Open Evening at Henleaze Infant School and Junior School – Come and look through your child’s work. You will find their work in their tray. Please complete the Parent View sheet on top of their work and leave it in the labelled box. Then go and visit their new classroom where they have now spent a morning with their new teachers. Following this at 5:30 – 6pm there is an Information meeting about Year 3 in the Junior Hall.

Year 2 Performance If you child has chosen a speaking part in the play then they will have brought home their parts last week. Please help them to learn their lines. If your child is a Narrator then they will be able to read from their words in the play but will not need to learn them by heart, but help them to practice for their confidence and fluency.

This week we will send home notes if your child requires any bits of costume. Please do not buy anything especially. If you are unsure or need to borrow things then please do ask your class teacher.

Reading – Fantastic Mr Fox
Focus: on the core text to use evidence to explain a character’s actions. Focus on the poem to explore common themes.
Retrieve items from a text. Find the meaning of unknown words using knowledge of context and synonyms.

Writing –
Using our plans to write our own versions of ‘The Tin Forest’, making one or two adaptations.
