Noticeboard

• Please alert your child’s class teacher when your child has filled up one side of their bookmark. 
• Please find the lunch menu by clicking here. 
• Please use the school calendar to find up-coming dates. 
• Please make sure your child has a coat in school every day. We will go outside even when it is cold and raining.
• Please do not allow your child to play with the resources that are on the Reception patio in the morning. These have been carefully positioned and are there to support your child’s learning during the school day.

Celebrations

This week, the children loved building boats to see if they would float! Alongside this, they have loved using water to keep cool during their outside play times.

Tapestry observation request 

This week our focus is on Literacy. See if you can make a story map of your own story or one you enjoy. Label some of the important characters, places and events on your map.

This week’s learning

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

This week the children will be colouring pictures of different healthy foods in their correct colours. We will collect all the pictures to make one big rainbow of food to label.

Communication and Language

Our Book of the week is Journey by Aaron Becker.

We will use helicopter stories to explore the themes of journey and adventure.

Physical development

We are going to continue with ball skills this week, using a range of small and large ball to develop our throwing and catching skills. 

Literacy

Our phonics learning this week will focus on any class-specific gaps in knowledge which teachers have identified.

Writing – This week, children will write about themselves for their new Year 1 teachers.

Maths

In Maths this week, we are going to be solving problems using the number knowledge we have learnt this year.

Understanding the World

 We will be sharing the minibeast facts we have been learning and writing about with the opposite Reception class.
