Parents do have the right to withdraw their child from R+WV. We place great importance on children learning about different faiths and worldviews, to prepare them to live in modern Britain where people have differing beliefs and to equip them to be able to live alongside difference. Any family wishing to withdraw would be invited to discuss with the school and hear how we approach the subject with the aim of informing children about different faiths and worldviews and expecting them to show respect towards others with different views and beliefs. There is no expectation that a child believes anything they are learning about – it is all in the third person: eg ” Some Muslims believe or practice this” .
