Children have planned a healthy wrap recipe. They are very excited to make these! We would very much appreciate donations of food items to support us to make these. Look out for sign up sheets on class patios at pick up and drop off to sign up to bring some of the ingredients needed. Thank you!

Writing
We will be starting a new writing topic of ‘describing a familiar character’. The children will write a character description of Paddington, linked to our previous reading topic.

Reading
We will be starting to read a new class text of ‘The Christmas Pine’ by Julia Donaldson. Each year, the UK Poetry Society asks a poet to write a poem to welcome the gifted Christmas tree from Norway. Julia Donaldson originally wrote The Christmas Pine to celebrate the 2020 Christmas tree. The poem was performed by London schoolchildren, and displayed in Trafalgar Square.

Maths
In maths, we are learning about ‘Money’.
You can support your child with this learning, by ensuring that they have opportunity to handle these coins at home so that they are able to easily recognise all coins.

This week we will be looking at how to total a mixture of notes and coins. We will also:
-make amounts by selecting the correct notes and coins to make amounts (such as £3 and 45p)
-add amounts if you were buying multiple items
-start to explore the concept of giving change
