Wednesday 17th December – Children can wear party clothes or festive wear for our class Christmas parties/ This will be disco in hall, party games in classes and a drink and biscuit.

Writing
We will be starting a new writing topic of ‘formal invitations’. We will design and write our own Christmas themed invitations.
Reading
We will be continuing with our class text of ‘The Christmas Pine’ by Julia Donaldson. We will read extracts linked to other religious celebrations including the Chinese Lantern Festival and Holi.

Maths
In maths, we will be finishing off our learning about money and moving onto shape.
We will be recapping the difference between 2D and 3D shapes and naming them.
We will learn the difference between regular and irregular 2D shapes and count the sides on these.
We will look at the etymology or the shape names, e.g. quadrilateral (quad means 4), pentagons (pent means 5) etc.

Science: ‘Animals including humans’: Why do we exercise? How does it help us stay healthy?
PE: Dance
PSHE: we will be exploring how to develop a growth mindset and learn how our brains change and strengthen when we make mistakes.
