- If your child completes one of the sides of their bookmark, please alert your child’s class teacher.
- Children need to bring their book bag into school every day. If they do not have it on a Monday, they will not be able to have a new reading book.
- We would like you to support your child to hold their pencil correctly when they are using them at home. Children should be using a tripod grip. Click here to see a BBC Bitesize video about how to hold a pencil.
- Please do not allow your child to play with the resources that are on the Reception patio in the morning. These have been carefully positioned and are there to support your child’s learning during the school day.
World Book Day – Friday 3rd March
Please join us in celebrating World Book Day at Henleaze Infants School on Friday 3rd March. We invite you to dress up as a book character and bring in your favourite book. Please ensure all books brought in are labelled with your child’s name and class.
The children have really enjoyed learning about cold places, penguins and polar bears this week. They have been writing facts in full sentences in their writing books. We are really impressed with their letter formation and their pencil grips. Please continue to work on this at home too.

The focus this week is Literacy. This week we are celebrating World Book Day. Please send in a picture of your child’s favourite book, asking them to think about why they have chosen that particular book. We will then use this to support our writing.
You can also send us any moments that you feel are significant in your child’s learning or want to share with your child’s class teachers.
