Noticeboard

  • Please send in any spare pants (and some trousers/joggers) as these are really useful if a change is needed; particularly boys’ (we are running low across the year group)
  • In R+WV we are discussing special stories and books that are important to us and our families so pick a favourite with your child and encourage them to think about why they like it.. We would love for them to bring it in to share with the class.
  • We will continue to aim to get outside as much as possible so they really need a warm, waterproof coat each day.

Friday, 12th January, 9am – Parent Information Meeting – Writing – How we and you can support your child with learning to write. This academic year, we as a school are completing a project about improving our writing skills with a concentration on formation and handwriting and spelling. The meeting will start with EYFS and all the way to Year 2 so lots of important information for all parents. There is more information on the back of your child’s calendar that they will be bringing home.

English

Phonics: Teaching – Phase 5
This week we will just be revising what we have done so far. Please use your sounds sheet (sent home at the end of T2) to support your child’s revision and reading at home.
We will be changing reading books this week even though it is not our usual day to do so.
Writing will linked to PSHE and will be focusing on dreams and goals for 2024.

We will be recapping addition and subtraction over these 2 days and applying this knowledge to solving word problems.
