Year 2 Learning. Term 4, Week 6

We return to school to start Term 5 on:

Noticeboard

Last day of term will be our famous ‘Year 2 Spring Bonnet Parade’. There will be a small prize for each class for the entry that catches Mrs. Fricker’s eye! Children can decorate hats/caps at home and bring in their entry on the last day of term. This will also be non-uniform day with donations to FHIS.

Maypole Dancing
Please remember to return your slip to your teacher if our child has brought home a letter, expressing their interest to take part. If they are able to attend on Saturday, 18th May then sign the slip and return by the end of the week.

Forward Planning:
Week 1 – Day to be confirmed, before pick up (3pm) a chance to come and look at our Climate Zone projects from this term
INSET Day – School Closed – Friday 3rd May
Cultural Focus Whole School Enrichment Week – 7th – 10th May – We will give out more information next term but we will be looking for parent helpers for some of our activities.

English

Spelling 
Session 1: Teach the /n/ sound spelt kn or gn at the beginning of words
Session 2: Teach the /r/ sound spelt wr at the beginning of words
CEW for Reading then spelling:  kind    break    prove  water  every  everybody

Writing
Session 1 – Write up their Explorer Dome Experience
Session 2 – SPAG lesson – Know what a subordinating conjunction is, identify and use within sentences.
Session 3 – To write sentences to describe chocolate using my senses and after a little taste! Challenge: To use subordinating conjunctions.
