Year 2 News – Term 2, Week 2

Our major event in Year 2 this week was our trip to Caldicot Castle. We had such an exciting and interesting day! Thank goodness we missed the deluge of Thursday as too – phew!

The children made us feel so proud with their exemplary behaviour and there enthusiasm for finding out about the castle.

We enjoyed many different activities, including: hearing stories and harp playing, exploring the towers and the spooky dungeon, following the moat around the edge of the castle and making careful sketches of interesting features.

The view from the moat.

The children have written recounts of the trip to share their experiences.

This week, we were also visited by the NSPCC. They taught the children the important message of “Speak out to stay safe”. We learnt some important messages about the rights of children and the people and charities that can help to protect them so they stay safe.

Thank you to everyone for wearing your spots and stripes for children in need on Friday and for all of your generous donations to the cause.
