Monday – Connect – Read a story and stop to ask how the characters are feeling
Tuesday – Take Notice – Close your eyes and imagine you’re in your favourite special place. What can you hear/ see/ feel/ smell?
Wednesday – Be Active – Hip hop dance

Friday – Give – Watch Mrs Fricker read the storybook called “Kind”

Phonics and Spelling

Writing
Session 1: Using the story of ‘Tell me a Dragon’ use as inspiration to write down notes and ideas to record a dragon spotting in Henleaze!
Session 2: Create a wanted poster for the sited dragon.
Session 3: Write simple instructions for trapping and catching the dragon.

Reading
Sessions of all groups guided reading. Assessments of phonics and book levels.
Whole class reading daily.
Book changing Day : MONDAYS

Wider Curriculum

PE Continuation of our Dance unit
SHINE Taking turns and sharing resources. Being respectful when playing competitive games.
Art – To look at examples of the work of the artist Paul Klee. Look at his use of colour and shapes. Look particularly at ‘Castle and Sun’.


Science – To choose materials based on their specific properties to create a design for armour and the protective clothing that could be worn underneath.
R+WV – Learn about the Christian story of the Baptism of Jesus. Look at Christian art symbolism.
PSHE – Rewards and consequences
DT – Design mediaeval castles which can then be made out of clay. Design your own castle using the information you have learnt in History .Look at the techniques and handy hints that will be important when transferring the design to clay.
History – Investigate a range of sources to find out about the past. To learn about the significant parts of a castle and design your own castle using the newly learnt vocabulary.

Due to our lovely author visit last week we did not celebrate stars of the week in an assembly but this will resume next week.
