Road Safety Week – Tuesday 21st November – A special visitor will join us for our assembly today and then will treat us to a special workshop for each class on keeping safe by our roads.
Tuesday 21st November- 6pm – Online Safety Evening in the Junior School hall. Although this event will take place at the Juniors it has been organised by both schools and so is aimed at both age groups.

Henleaze Christmas Fayre – Wednesday 6th December – This will be after school where members of the school Choir will perform to open the event. More details to follow via email to the choir members.
Henleaze Infants Christmas Carol Service – Thursday 7th December – St Peter’s Church – 2pm – All Welcome Please email class emails if you are able to help walk us to the church and back
We will also be sending out some readings for 7 children from each class for them to practice at home. The newly formed Y2 Writing club will also be reading a poem about Christmas that we are writing together.
Wednesday 13th December – Christmas Dinner
Friday 15th December – Christmas Parties and Last Day of Term – Wear your party clothes and/or a Christmas Jumper. Bring in a donation to FHIS. Next week we will put sign up sheets for donations of food to bring in for the parties.

Monday – Connect – Guess how I’m feeling game – Teacher or a child makes a face and children try to guess how they are feeling
Tuesday – Take Notice – What makes you feel… Use the feelings wheel to talk about why we might feel different emotions
Wednesday – Be active – Play a new game at playtime, you could even make your own game up!
Thursday – Keep Learning –Sit by someone new at lunchtime
Friday – Give – Keep a tally of how many times we hear someone in class saying Please or Thank you

Reading
Poetry (using rhyme) will continue to be our main focus this week. Children will also complete independent tasks around comprehension skills, Editing writing and correcting spellings and writing captions to match pictures.
Writing – Based on the text ‘Zog and the Flying Doctors’, By Julia Donaldson
Drama. Moving around and talking in the manner of the characters. Using the vocabulary and clues from the story.
Editing stories from last week.
Design and label an outfit for the Princess from the story. Use the story to help dictate what she wants and needs. Think about our science work on materials and their uses this term.
Write a letter for the King persuading him about the outfit and allowing it to be made for the princess.

Geography Using globes and atlases to locate and name the 5 oceans. Label them on our maps and include the four main points of a compass.
