We have been getting creative this week in Year 2 planning stories about our dragon. We have practised using powerful adjectives to describe Dragon Island and created story maps of our ideas. We’re excited to bring all of our ideas together in our stories next week!

We have really needed our stickability in maths this week getting the hang of how to ‘exchange’ our 10s and 1s. For example, when adding 17 and 15, the ones can be exchanged for a ten and 2 ones. We have worked really hard to apply this idea to solve problems.

We were composers this week in music, coming up with our own lyrics to a familiar tune. The teachers were wowed by the children’s creative ideas (even though they were largely food-based) and by their fantastic understanding of rhythm. We’re looking forward to getting together to perform our songs next week!
