Year 1 Learning Week 5, Term 4

We have enjoyed making and tasting our fruit salads this week! We have also been super busy rehearsing for our Year 1 play.

Term 5 starts – Monday 15th April

Phonics: Phase 5b – Alternative Pronunciations
Sounds:
y (very), ch (school), ch (chef), c (cell), g (gent), ey (they)
Words: once, please, friends

Writing: We are continuing with our Egg Spotters guides and using the book as a prompt for independent learning in the environment: can you come up with a new character for the story?
We will also be writing story boards to help us plan for our animations that we will be creating.
Reading: We are completing phonics assessments this week and next.

We will be finishing of the ‘Measure’ units that we have been doing over the last 2 weeks and completing assessment around these. This includes the work we have done on measuring length and height, measuring mass and measuring capacity.

PE-  SHINE Outside Session

R+WV Easter – we will be revisiting all that we have learnt about Easter over the last few weeks.

Music/Drama – It’s time for our big performance this week!

PSHE- Clean and healthy – We will be looking at medicine safety this week.

Computing – We will be looking at how stop motion animations are made with a series of photographs and creating a story board within a small group to plan our own animation video.

Art – We will be a creating a background for our animation with our group.
