Reception – Term 5, Week 4

Noticeboard

  • See information below about Lucky Jars for the Mayfair!
  • Next week, on 17th May 2023, Reception will be going to Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm for their school trip. Please provide your child with a packed lunch on this day.
  • Bank holiday on Monday 8th May.
  • If your child completes one of the sides of their bookmark, please alert your child’s class teacher.
  • Children need to bring their book bag into school every day. If they do not have it on a Monday, they will not be able to have a new reading book.
  • We would like you to support your child to hold their pencil correctly when they are using them at home. Children should be using a tripod grip. Click here to see a BBC Bitesize video about how to hold a pencil.
  • Please do not allow your child to play with the resources that are on the Reception patio in the morning. These have been carefully positioned and are there to support your child’s learning during the school day.

Celebrations

It has been a wonderful week, celebrating and learning about the King’s Coronation and learning about our school being 70 years old. The children have enjoyed making part of a whole school wall hanging, making crowns, making key rings and writing about what they would do if they were the King for a day!

You might have noticed our new sensory garden on the patio area for the children to play with. There are wind spinners, CDs and a wind chime in the tree, glockenspiels on the fence, a mirror and smelly herbs for the children to explore their senses.
