Thank you to all the children of our three Year 2 classes. You have all been amazing, engaged and enthusiastic with your learning, kind, polite and respectful. Thank you too for all the parents amazing support. It’s been a great year and all the Year 2 team will miss you all and wish you happy holidays and all the best for Year 3!

English 

Reading:

One to one reading will continue to take priority this week alongside play rehearsals. Once reading books have been taken in, children will still be able to access books in school to read at the appropriate level. Any children who are very close to completing the last side of their bookmarks and receiving their head teacher’s award, please just come and see your class teacher.

Writing

This week we are linking our English lessons with History and looking at the journey of Ibn Battuta. We will think about why it was a s[special journey and look at the different countries he travelled to. 

Maths

In Maths this week we will be recapping arrays and doubles. We are going to link Maths with Art and create some array art work. 

Knowledge and Understanding of the World (Topic)

PSHE 

We will be listening to transition stories and talking about different thoughts and feelings we have around this. 

DT

We will continue to make our bug houses using different materials we find on the playground.
