Monday – Connect – Pick a conversation starter card and model using it. Turn to the person next to you and take turns to start a conversation.
Tuesday – Take Notice – Colour your feelings
Wednesday – Be Active – Joe Wickes
Thursday – Keep Learning – Try something new’ challenge: Find an unusual place inside or out to look at a book with someone you don’t usually play with.
Friday – Give – Acts of kindness cards Pick a card for the class and at the end of the day, ask children to tell us who they noticed doing it.

Phonics
Reading
Poetry will be our main focus. Children will also complete independent tasks around comprehension, CEW keyword spotting and writing captions to match pictures.
Writing
Introduce story and create a story map including key vocabulary.
Retell the whole or part of the story.
Introduce Similes and think about rhyming words about Zog. Make lists ready to use for writing a class poem.
Write a class poem- Children to write parts out (handwriting) and illustrate. As a class we will look at prosody when reading out our poem aloud together.
